Doctor Who: Amy and Rory’s departure – an alternative ending

Though the departure of Amy and Rory was a well handled, emotionally draining episode, it did have some unsatisfactory aspects – why couldn’t the Doctor visit them (even rescue them) by simply going back and meeting them somewhere other than New York? And what about Rory’s dad Brian (Mark Williams), of whom we had quickly become so fond? Is he just left dangling in the wind, forever waiting for his son and daughter-in-law to return? How cruel.

But there are some answers to be found here in Dan Martin’s Doctor Whoblog for The Guardian – the scene that was never filmed.

Film it, damnit!!
